Built for movement and designed for everyday life, the Gadget Pants are one of Gramicci’s most functional silhouettes, combining climbing heritage with modern utility design.
Originally introduced in the early 1990s, the Gadget Pants are a revived classic inspired by the original G-Pant climbing trousers created by Mike Graham in the 1980s. While much of the outdoor industry was shifting toward highly technical gear, the Gadget Pants stayed true to Gramicci’s core philosophy — focusing on simplicity, durability, and everyday wearability.
Blending climbing functionality with workwear and military-inspired utility, they are designed to perform in every environment — from rock faces and campsites to everyday city life.

A Laid-Back Alternative to 90s Climbing Gear
Unlike the bright, high-stretch Lycra gear that dominated climbing walls in the early 90s, the Gadget Pants offered something different — a more relaxed, everyday approach to performance wear.
Designed for versatility, they worked everywhere: from cliff faces and campsites to city streets, grocery runs, and casual rides on an old cruiser bike. This adaptability is what made them stand out then — and what still makes them relevant today. Explore the full range in the Men’s Pants Collection:
It’s this versatility and everyday usefulness that led us to bring them back. Using a vintage pair as reference, we stayed true to the original relaxed, utilitarian design while preserving everything that made them so functional in the first place.

Built for Utility, Down to the Details
To make the pockets even more functional, the right pocket entry features a strip of reinforced webbing designed to hold everyday essentials like keys, carabiners, or bottle openers. It’s these thoughtful details that truly earn them the name — Gadget Pants.
Another key design feature is the unique seam construction. Instead of the standard two seams per leg, the Gadget Pants use a three-seam layout, with stitching running from each side of the pockets down to the hem as well as along the inside leg. This not only reinforces the structure but also helps the pockets hold their shape, keeping everything durable, stable, and ready for daily use.

Garment Dye Finish & Tonal Look
In keeping with the comfortable, everyday feel of the trousers, we’ve used a garment-dye process. Unlike piece-dyeing — where individual fabric panels are dyed separately — garment-dyeing treats the entire finished garment at once.
Because the Gadget Pants combine contrasting fabrics like cotton twill and canvas, this garment-dye process creates a naturally rich tonal effect. The dye reacts differently across each material, giving the pants subtle depth, variation, and a more lived-in, characterful finish that improves over time.

Fit, Shape & Movement
As for the shape, the Gadget Pants are designed to sit slightly shorter than the classic G-Pants, with a wider hem that creates a relaxed straight-leg silhouette.
As with all Gramicci trousers, freedom of movement is built in. The diamond-shaped crotch gusset allows for 180-degree leg mobility, ensuring comfort and flexibility in every situation — from active outdoor use to everyday wear.
